LEWISTON – Jeanne D’Arc F. Paquin, 83, of Lewiston, died Saturday, June 11, at d’Youville Pavilion, with her family by her side following a long illness.
Born in St. Gille, Canada, on Oct. 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Arthur and Marie Bonneau Lessard.
She was employed at St. Mary’s Regional Hospital for 10 years as a C.N.A., Intown Manor, and St. Casimir’s Nursing Home.
She loved cooking and caring for others, and wanted nothing in return.
She was the widow of William L. Paquin, whom she married on July 27, 1943. He died on May 17, 1990, of cancer.
She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
She is survived by her son, Dennis and wife, Susan Paquin, of Oxford; her daughter, Diane (Paquin) and husband, Philip Ham, of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Wendy Paquin and Dana Hodgdon of Norway, Will Paquin of South Portland, Karey (Ham) and husband, Jay Pelletier, of Lewiston, Jenny (Ham) and husband, Chris Giles, of Lewiston; a great-grandson, Tyler Dennis Hodgdon of Norway; and companion and best friend of 14 years, Edward Kennedy.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, William; six sisters, Cecile, Rosa, Maria, Alma, Imelda, and Roma; eight brothers, Joseph Lessard, Ovila, Romeo, Bernard, Adelard, Arthur Jr, Adrien and Antonio.
