LEWISTON – Mabel A. Dakin, 83, of North Turner, died Sunday, June 12, at Marshwood Heath Care Center in Lewiston.

She was born April 13, 1922, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Elmer and Eva White Storer. She graduated from Livermore Falls High School, Class of 1941.

On Oct. 3, 1946, she married Lester Dakin in Concord, N.H. He died in 1972.

Mabel worked for Livermore Falls Shoe Co., and later for Bass Shoe Co. in Wilton, for 18 years, retiring in 1984.

She was a member of the Nazarene Church of Livermore Falls.

She is survived by two sons, Leeman Dakin of Kingman, Ariz., and Manley Dakin of North Turner; a sister, Lillian Reed of Evanston, Wyo.; five grandchildren, Manley Jr., Bevin, Jennifer, Allen and Lillian; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Joy Louise Dakin, in 1964, and three sisters, Edith Stultz, Evelyn Carpenter and Eleanor Cressey.
