MILLINOCKET – Charles (Skip) Berry, 61, passed away Thursday, June 2, after a long illness.

He was born Feb. 26, 1944, in Rumford, the son of Adoniram and Thelma (Marble) Berry. He graduated from Leavitt Institute and the University of Maine at Orono, with a degree in civil engineering.

He worked as a civil engineer at Great Northern Paper Co. until 2003.

He served in Vietnam as a Seabee engineer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Gretchen (Reid) Berry of Millinocket; their three daughters, Julia, Angela and Melissa; his children, Deane Berry, Jacqueline Dyer and Bridgette Lawrence; five sisters, Marilynn Rumley, Lois Hathaway, Susan Novros, Arlene Nason and Kathleen Berry; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Beryl Hayden.
