LEWISTON – Jean E. Addison, 90, a resident of Wales, formerly of Lake Worth, Fla., died Sunday, June 12, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where she had been a patient for two days.

She was born on June 17, 1914, the first girl born in the newly formed town of Lake Worth, Fla., the daughter of G. Sherman and Ethel (Sinclair) Childs. She graduated from Lake Worth High School.

On Sept. 30, 1933, she married Edward J. Addison in Lake Worth, Fla.; they were married 61 years. She devoted her life to her home and family as a homemaker.

She was a member of the Pioneers of the City of Lake Worth, Lake Worth High School Alumni Foundation, and formerly a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Lake Worth.

She enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, needlepoint and other arts and crafts, as well as collecting china and music boxes.

She is survived by a son James Addison and his wife, Sheila, of Lake Worth, Fla.; a daughter, Marjorie Hamel of Wales; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Sherman and Irvine Childs; a sister, Irvene Childs; her husband; parents; and a son-in-law, Felix Hamel.
