NORWAY – Residents from five towns that voted Tuesday elected a mix of incumbents and new blood from a pool of 47 candidates running for several positions.

Turnout was less than 25 percent for all five towns.

Of Paris’ 3,294 voters, 544, or 16.5 percent, turned out to vote at the fire station on Western Avenue. Voters elected incumbent Raymond Glover and Kenneth West to three-year positions on the Board of Selectmen. Incumbent John Jenness Jr. and Mary Pietroski won three-year school board positions.

And incumbents Mark Bancroft and Peter Bickford were elected for three-year utility district positions.

Paris residents will vote on the municipal budget at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, in the fire station.

Just 9 percent of Norway’s 3,738 registered voters turned out to cast ballots Tuesday. The races for selectmen, school board and trustee of the Norway Memorial Library were uncontested.

Incumbents William Damon and Leslie Flanders were elected to three-year selectmen positions. Incumbent Donald Gouin was a shoo-in for the three-year school board position. And Marilyn Eaton and Sallie Nealand won three-year terms as library trustees.

Norway voters will vote on their municipal budget at 7 p.m. Monday, June 20, in Oxford Hills high school forum.

Harrison

Just 304 out of the 1,869 registered Harrison voters, or 16 percent, turned out at the polls Tuesday.

Voters elected two selectmen, a Planning Board member and two members of the appeals board. Incumbent Thomas Scribner and James S. Bennett were approved as selectmen for three-year terms. Leroy B. Edwards, who ran unopposed for a three-year Planning Board position, received 266 votes.

Robert McBride ran unopposed for a five-year appeals board position, receiving 257 votes. Jonathan Whitney, who received 255 votes, was the only candidate running for a two-year appeals board position

Harrison residents will vote on their municipal budget at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Harrison elementary school.

Bridgton

Less than 20 percent of Bridgton’s 4,147 registered voters cast ballots for a handful of town officials Tuesday. Incumbent Robert McHatton Sr. and Robert Bell were approved for three- year terms on the Board of Selectmen. Donna Lord was elected for a three-year SAD 61 board term, and Wayne Warner was elected to a two-year term on the same board.

Stevens Barker ran unopposed for the trustee of the Bridgton water district, receiving 585 votes. Deanna Miller and Gordon Davis tied for the three-year Planning Board position.

In addition, Bridgton voters approved all four ordinance amendments on the ballot: the Building and Razing Permit Ordinance, the Sign Ordinance, the Shoreland Zoning Ordinance and the Site Plan Review Ordinance.

Bridgton residents will vote on their municipal budget at 7 p.m. tonight in the town hall.

Bethel

Nearly 25 percent of Bethel’s 1,943 registered voters showed up at Crescent Park elementary school to cast ballots for four selectmen and school board members.

Incumbent Jack Cross and Dennis Doyon were elected to three-year selectmen seats.

Incumbent Cheryl Thurston and Erika Dresser Penczer won three-year school board positions.

Bethel residents will vote on their municipal budget at 7 p.m. tonight in the auditorium of the Crescent Park School.
