LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Falls Christian Academy recently was awarded first place overall at the Accelerated Christian Education Northeast Regional Student Convention held in Schroon Lake, N.Y.

In addition to being the top overall school, the academy earned first-place honors in the music, platform and exhibit divisions.

More than 300 students from New York and New England competed in the areas of academics, music, platform, exhibits and athletics. Students were awarded individual medals for the first six places.

First-place awards: Nickolas Brewin, woodworking construction; Jennifer Griffin, color photo-character trait; Elizabeth Reynolds, formal dress; Mike Hilton, male solo; Mike Hilton and Brandon Craig, male duet; Kyle Brewin, Brandon Craig and Derek Roberts, male trio.

Also, Alyssa Boucher, Mary Ganong and Mike Hilton, mixed trio; LFCA Choir, large ensemble; LFCA volley team, volleyball; Alyssa Boucher and Mary Ganong, piano duet; Alyssa Boucher, musical composition; Megan Boucher and Alexandra Moulton, dramatic dialogue.

Second-place awards: Mary Ganong, short story; Nickolas Brewin, pen and ink; Megan Boucher, colored pencils; Joshua Roberts, black and white photo-scenic; Alyssa Boucher, embroidery; Erin Costanzo, archery; Kyle Brewin, 200-meter dash; Matthew DeGroft, 1600-meter run; Anthony Ancona, Kyle Brewin, Nickolas Brewin, Matt DeGroft, 1600-meter relay.

Third-place awards: Kyle Brewin, sketching; Erin Costanzo, pen and ink; Ashley Latouche, colored pencils; Megan Boucher, color photo-character trait; Erin Costanzo, counted cross stitch; Mary Ganong, quilt; Anthony Ancona, 1600-meter run; Amanda Stevens, 400-meter dash; Patrick Veilleux, running long jump; Mike Hilton and Nathan Colson, Jason Medlen, Jennifer Griffin, Jennifer Griffeth, radio program.

Fourth-place awards: Derek Roberts and Joshua Roberts, science exhibit collection; Elizabeth Reynolds, poetry writing; Seth Costanzo, power point-non linear; Joshua Coombs, pen and ink; Megan Boucher, clay sculpture, Joshua Roberts, black and white photo-character trait.

Sixth-place awards: Jason Medlen, watercolor; Cassidy Lavers, black and white photo-scenic; Nickolas Brewin, 800-meter run; Mike Hilton, shot put; Nickolas Brewin, physical fitness; Patrick Veilleux, archery; Patrick Veilleux, 100-meter dash.

The school placed first in music, exhibits and platform performances and the overall points awarded a first place in the Northeast Regional Convention.
