LEWISTON – A faulty neon sign was blamed for smoke in the Lewiston Mall late Tuesday morning.
Fire crews responded to a report of smoke in the mall just before 11 a.m. Lewiston Fire Capt. Tim Meyers said they traced the smoke to a small neon sign that had shorted out in front of G.M. Pollack and Sons jewelry store.
The mall was never closed or evacuated, although some stores shut down while fire crews investigated the smoke.
