FARMINGTON – Edward D. “Eddie” Giroux, 78, of Mexico, died Thursday, June 16, at Sandy River Center, Farmington.

He was born in Rumford, on May 31, 1927, the son of Edward Giroux and Yvonne (LeBarge) Giroux Sessions.

He served during World War II in the Pacific with the U.S. Navy. He worked at HP Hood & Sons as a route salesman, and then for the A & P and Gigueres as a manager, retiring in 1981.

He was married in Mexico, on Oct. 25, 1948, to Jacqueline (Bernard) Giroux, who predeceased him on Dec. 22, 2002. They enjoyed a rich and full life together, doing the things that meant the most to them – spending years on a boat on Richardson Lake when their family was young, then building a camp to enjoy with friends and family.

He enjoyed gardening and RV traveling with his copilot, Jackie, for 10 years after their retirement.

Surviving are his family, sons, Gary and Cynthia Giroux of Dixfield, and David and Ramona Giroux of Longmont, Colo.; daughter, Tamara and Michael Breton of Roxbury; five granddaughters, Erin and her husband, Christopher, Abigail, Hannah, India and her husband, Ryan, and Desiree; two great-grandchildren, Ellen and Jonathan Wainwright; a sister, Lorraine Tow of Scipio, Ind.; half sister, Shirley Hubbard of Inverness, Fla.; and half brother, Asa Sessions of Scipio, Ind.
