HERNANDO, Fla. – Wilfred “Bill” LaChance, 80, of Hernando, Fla., died June 13, at Citrus Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.

A native of Lewiston, he was born Sept. 3, 1924, to the late Tony and Valdora (Desjardins) LaChance, and went to the Florida area in 1980 from Oak Ridge, N.J.

He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre. Following his military service, he lived in northern New Jersey, and was a detail man and sales representative for the A.H. Robins Pharmaceutical Co.

He married Edythe Sumner on July 25, 1975, and lived in Citrus County, Fla., for the past 25 years.

He was a member of the Ridgewood, N.J., Camera Club and enjoyed photography, fishing and other activities.

Survivors include his wife, Edythe Sumner LaChance, of Hernando, Fla.; two sons, Paul E. Lachance and his wife, Jennifer, of Del Mar, Calif., and Lawrence J. LaChance of Jacksonville, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Troy, Dan and Sandra.
