WILTON – Ernest H. Lamoureux, 66, of Wilton, died peacefully at his home on Friday, June 17, after a short illness.
Born in West Warwick, R.I., he was the son of Ernest and Dorothy Lamoureux.
He married Judith on Jan. 22, 1968, in New Haven, Conn. They lived together at 23 Blue Spruce Road in East Wilton for 32 years, raising four children there. Recently they moved to their newly-built home on 7 Terrace Drive.
Ernest worked as a mechanical/piping designer for 25 years throughout Maine, New England and New York. He also worked at The Luce Studio in Farmington.
He enjoyed a short term of employment at Seniors Plus in Wilton before taking an early retirement.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of golf, and his enjoyment of Rhode Island beaches.
He was most proud of the “Little House” he helped build last summer and fall.
He is survived by his wife Judith; a son, John and his wife, Marcia, of Wilton; daughters, Laura Donald and her husband, Jeff, of Wilton, Stephanie of Farmington, Jenny Wilson and her husband, Jake, of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Jean Vercouteren and her husband, The Rev. Karl Vercouteren, of The Dalles, Ore.; and 11 grandchildren.
