I am writing in response to the letter from Maurice C. Fillion in the June 7 editorial page. He states that, at 83 years of age, he finds for the first time he is afraid for our country. He said that he has never witnessed such thoughtless arrogance on the part of our government in international affairs, and its complete disregard for the needs of our less fortunate citizens.

He states my feelings very well.

Our government, headed by George W. Bush, seems determined to flex its power and bludgeon it down our throats. I applaud Mr. Fillion’s views and agree completely.

Personally, I fear the loss of our personal freedoms that our forefathers sacrificed so much to bring to our country many years ago. Sadly, I feel we are relentlessly losing them one by one.
