POLAND – Gertrude Faye Scott, 82, died at her home in Poland after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born in Jacksonville, on Feb. 1, 1923, daughter of Madeline Scott. She also lived many years in Pownal and Bangor.

Gertrude attended the Senior Enrichment Center in Portland where she enjoyed sewing, beano, bowling, volunteering and helping others.

She also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, children, animals, puzzles, attending church and bean suppers, and socializing with everyone.

She is survived by her foster family and friends, Brenda Wood of Poland, Astardey Wood of Gardiner, Ronald and Cora Wood of Millinocket, and Marlene York and Charlie Gomm of Howland.
