SOUTH PARIS – Leona T. Andrews, 89 of South Paris, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 18, after a brave fight with cancer.
She was born in Casco, May 11, 1916, the daughter of Harry and Jennie Tripp Tracy. She attended school in the Casco area, and worked at Norway shoe shops and at Overlook Farm in Casco.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, bird watching, blueberrying, playing cards, donating handmade crafts to the children’s hospital, and spending time with her family.
She was a member of the Rebekah’s.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert L., whom she married Dec. 1, 1940; a son, Richard, of Sanford; a daughter-in-law, Eleanor, of Wells; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ethel Heikkinen of South Paris, and Rose Kelly and Jesse Fletcher, both of Connecticut; and a brother, “Sonny” McCormick of Oxford.
She was predeceased by her parents; a son, Ronald, in 2000; a granddaughter, Naomi, in 1973; a great-grandson, Scott Key; two sisters, Sadie Lamkin and Emily Tracy; and three brothers, Harry and Justin Tracy, and Lawrence Tripp.
