DURHAM – The wedding of Kristen Merrill and Jason Lavoie, both of Durham, was held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 10 at Spring Meadows Banquet Center in Gray. Anita Gagne officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Lavoie is the daughter of Jeff and Mary Merrill of Skowhegan. Mr. Lavoie is the son of Monita Lavoie of Yarmouth and the late Larry Lavoie.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Audrey Booker, friend of the couple, was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Theresa Howard and Rebecca Niederfringer, childhood friends of the bride.

Serving as best man was Paul Booker, friend of the couple and ushers were Chris Straw and John Keimel, friends of the bridegroom, and Chris Lavoie, brother of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at the Spring Meadows Banquet Center, after which the couple traveled to northern Vermont.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Skowhegan Area High School and a 2000 graduate of Colby College. She is employed as development assistant at the Children’s Museum of Maine and is manager of the Choral Art Society, both in Portland.

The bridegroom is a 1992 graduate of Edward Little High School and a 1997 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono. He is employed as network engineer at Bowdoin College in Brunswick.
