SCARBOROUGH – Edna Mae Parker, 96, died Sunday, June 19, at the home of her daughter, Elaine Eldridge, in Scarborough. She formerly lived on Forest Avenue in Portland.
She was born in Cornish, Oct. 4, 1908, the daughter of Harry and Georgia Wilcox Pendexter. She was a graduate of Cornish High School, Class of 1927.
She worked at the former Porteous store in Portland and also at Markson Brothers as a sales clerk.
She was member of the Rebekah Lodge in Cornish, and enjoyed camping, crocheting and most of all, her family. She always looked forward to the month of October, when she would take her annual trip to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She also enjoyed the many plane rides with her grandson-in-law.
Her husband, Winthrop Sterling Parker, died in 1997.
She is survived by one son, Sterling Parker and his wife, Janice, of Cumberland; three daughters, Dorothy Mason and her husband, Norm, of Westbrook, Glenna Googins and her husband, Merle, of Cornish, and Elaine Eldridge of Scarborough; two sisters, Doris Larlee of Meridith, N.H., and Lois Davis of Cornish; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Linwood; two brothers, Donald and Maurice Pendexter; a sister, Stella Pendexter; two brothers-in-law, Brad Davis and Russell Larlee; a sister-in-law, Patricia Pendexter; and three grandchildren.
