Dear Sun Spots: I would like an address of where to write to Michael Jackson and his lawyer Thomas Mesereau. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: According to the Michael Jackson Fan Club Web site, messages for Michael can be sent by e-mail to [email protected] or by snail mail to The Michael Jackson Fan Club, “Michael Mail,” P.O. Box 181275, Corpus Christi, Texas 78480. The fan club will collect all messages and pass them on to Michael. You should note the deadline is June 28.

In addition, you can contact Mesereau through his office, Collins, Mesereau, Reddock & Yu, 1875 Century Park East, 7th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90067, (310) 284-3120.

Dear Sun Spots: Why is the gas cheaper in Auburn than it is in Lewiston? – Clem Bechard, Lewiston.

Answer: Sun Spots checked in with enterprise reporter Doug Fletcher who says if the fuel station is independently owned, then the owner can pretty much set his/her own price: what’s needed to cover their costs for the gas, overhead, and etc. They can raise prices to boost profits, or opt to lower prices, too, in order to meet competition.

If the station is company owned, such as Irving, Exxon, Mobil or the like, then the company that owns it sets the pump price. Again, it’s usually based on the wholesale cost of gasoline plus the cost to ship it to the station, plus overhead, minus any competitive issues.

Dear Sun Spots: I have a bottle that says Dr True’s Elixir Established 1851 Dr. J. F. True & Co Inc. Auburn, Maine. Could you tell me more information on it? Thanks. – No Name, No Town.
