TURNER – Mike Chamard went 3-for-4 with one RBI and two doubles to lead Andy Valley to a 2-1 victory over New Auburn in American Legion baseball action Tuesday.

Ben Mendelson chipped in for Andy Valley (3-2) with a home run in the second inning. Brandon Eli pitched the last two innings and posted the win.

Paul Cizewski led New Auburn (0-1) with a home run, while pitcher Chris Merrill, allowed nine hits and two earned runs for the loss.

Gayton 3, Locke Mills 2

LEWISTON – Luke Potter struck out seven, allowed four hits walked one to lead Gayton to a 3-2 win over Locke Mills on Tuesday in American Legion action.

Potter helped his own cause with a double for Gayton, while teammate Ryan Turgeon was the lone repeat hitter in the game. Nate Gruz also had a double for Gayton (2-3).

Marcus Palmer took the loss for Locke Mills (1-1). Nate Walker and Ben French each banged out a double.

Gray 2, Mechanic Falls 0

GRAY – Peter Clement tossed a two-hit shutout to lead Gray to a 2-0 victory over Mechanic Falls.

Nate Bartlett, who reached on a walk, scored the first run for Gray on a balk when two runners attempted to steal a base.

Craig Gobeil scored an insurance run in the sixth inning on Tim Deluca’s triple.

Gerry Goss took the loss for Mechanic Falls.
