MONROE, Wash. – Eric E. Bennett, 33, of Sultan, Wash., died June 18, in Monroe, Wash.

He was born April 8, 1972, in Orange, Calif.

He graduated from Eastmont High School in 1991, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was stationed in Hawaii from 1991 to 1995 as an E-4 corporal.

He was a steelworker in Iowa where he met his wife, Melissa. He married Melissa Gisel in DeWitt, Iowa, on Sept. 18, 1998. They relocated to Sultan, Wash., where he worked for Cadman Rock in Monroe, Wash.

He was a great father, loving husband, friend and co-worker. He was an avid outdoorsman and his latest passion was his 19-foot C-Dory.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa; son, William; parents, Peter and Sherri Bennett of East Wenatchee, Wash.; brothers, Reese of Spokane, Wash., and Brandon of East Wenatchee, Wash., and other family members in Buckfield.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elaine and Fred Roth of VanNuys, Calif.
