PARIS – Training Partners will sponsor a conference on autism from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, June 24, at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
Pamela J. Cairnie, from the Autism Society, will discuss education, treatment and advocacy. She will also present resources for those living with autism.

Trial and Error
LEWISTON – The Trial and Error Lewiston-Auburn Chapter will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the Lewiston Public Library. Morrison Bonnapasse will be the guest speaker and will be available for a question and answer period as well as an update on the case of Dennis Dechaine. New center
CASTINE – Maine Maritime Academy will open its new Marine Science Interpretive and Information Center for the summer tourist season on Tuesday, July 5.
Sponsored by the college’s Corning School of Ocean Studies, the center is located at the base of Main Street in Dirigo House.
The center will be open to visitors free from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. It will close for the season on Aug. 19.
Hands-on and visual exhibits will feature marine life common to the local area, regional seashore ecology, and physical characteristics of Maine’s coastal environment. Field presentations will take place on Thursdays, July 7 to Aug. 18.
