EAST AUBURN – Robert A. Howard, 66, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, June 24, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston, on Jan. 5, 1939, son of the late Richard L. Howard and Evelyn E. Howard Merrill of Auburn. Bob grew up in the Auburn community and attended Auburn schools.

Soon after, he married the love of his life Marie Cloutier, and together they raised a beautiful family in East Auburn.

He worked for Spillers as a service manager until his retirement in 2000.

Bob was a member of the East Auburn Baptist Church, and the East Auburn Community Unit.

For many years he ran a rubber stamp business from his home, and in his free time he enjoyed model railroads, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marie Howard, of East Auburn; a daughter, Kathy L. Howard of Kernersville, N.C.; two sons, Dan and his wife, Kristal (Sam) Howard, Tim and his wife, Marti Howard; a sister, Nancy Douglass and her husband, Larry; three grandchildren, Darcy, David, and Caleb Howard, all of East Auburn; and several neices and nephews.
