POLAND – A New Hampshire teenager ran a stop sign and struck a truck Saturday afternoon, causing the truck to spin, flip over, hit a parked car and crash into a house, police said.
Isaisah S. Warren, 17, of New Hampshire, was traveling west on Route 11 when he ran a stop sign at a four-way intersection, according to police. Jeffrey M. Arsenault, 39, of Standish was passing south through the intersection and Warren struck the back of his truck, police said.
The truck spun and flipped over, then hit a parked car and ran into a house at 723 Bakerstown Road, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department. The truck hit the corner of the home and the living room, “crushing it in right where the foundation hit the wood,” said Sgt. James Jacques.
Arsenault was not hurt. His 44-year-old wife, Mary Aresenault, a passenger in the truck, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Warren was also taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Police said his injuries were also not life-threatening.
There was no one inside the house at the time.
Warren’s 1989 Oldsmobile was totaled, police said. Jacques estimated the truck, the parked Nissan and the house sustained thousands of dollars in damage.
Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
“He (Warren) just wasn’t paying attention,” Jacques said.
The sheriff’s department is still investigating. No charges have yet been filed.
