POLAND – After a 20-year-old Lewiston man was stabbed at a party early Saturday, police said they arrested a friend of his.
Daniel Bodget was at a late-night party at a home on Bailey Hill Road when police say his friend, Corry Pepin, also 20 and from Lewiston, stabbed him in the stomach and the chest. Pepin then fled into the nearby woods.
Androscoggin County Sheriff’s deputies, Maine State Police and Mechanic Falls Police responded. Police found him just after 2:40 in the morning, an hour and 20 minutes after the stabbing. He was in the woods, about 1,300 feet from the house.
Bodget was taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
Pepin was taken to the Androscoggin County jail, where he was being held on $25,000 cash bail.
Police were still investigating the incident.
