LEWISTON – Loren E. St.Cyr, 80, of Rumford, died Saturday, June 25, at the Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston. A lifelong resident of the area, he resided on the Swain Road, Rumford.

He was born in Rumford, on Oct. 21, 1924, a son of Frank and Dorcas (Glover) St.Cyr, and had attended Rumford schools.

During World War II, he served as a Second Class Seaman in the U.S. Navy.

He worked as a machinist at Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford for more than 40 years, retiring in June of 1987.

He was a communicant of St. Athanasius – St. John Church; Member Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion; Member Boise Cascade Paper Co. 25 & 40 Year Club; and dearly loved his family.

He was married in Rumford, on Jan. 19, 1944, to the former Mariette Jeanne (Poisson) Fisher, who survives of Rumford.

Other survivors include seven daughters, Suzanne Susbury and her husband, Bill, of Raymond, Mary Kenney of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Charlene Warren and her husband, Michael, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Elaine Herbert and her husband, Don, of Topsham, Brenda Ledue and her husband, Andy, of Scarborough, Sheila Payeur and her husband, Joe, of Bangor, Janine Bouchey and her husband, Alan, of Standish; five sons, Gerard St.Cyr and his wife, Shirley, of Howland, Marshall St.Cyr and her wife, Sheila, of New Castle, Jim St.Cyr and his wife, Christine, of Rumford, Mark St.Cyr of Rumford, Stephen St.Cyr and his wife, Grace, of New Castle; 32 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three brothers, his twin Frank St.Cyr, David St.Cyr of Rumford, and James St.Cyr of Washington, D.C.

He was predeceased by three daughters, Sharon Payne, Monica and Lisa St.Cyr; a son, Peter St.Cyr; two granddaughters, Rene St.Cyr and baby girl Martin; a sister, Gladys Gurschick; three brothers, Louis, Ray and Quentin St.Cyr.
