RUMFORD – Fernande S. Collette, 80, of Franklin Street, died Sunday, June 26, at Rumford Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born in Notre-Dames-Des Boise, Quebec, on March 22, 1925, a daughter of Alfred and Aglae Lareau, and was educated in schools in Canada.

She was a housekeeper and seamstress for many years.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Catholic Church, and was a member of des Dames de Ste-Anne.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing and knitting, and spending time with her son and daughter and their families.

She will always be remembered for her kindness and patience.

Surviving are a daughter, Doris Collette-Barrett and husband, Walston III, of Mexico, and their children, Montana and Jeremy, and a son, David Collette and wife, Caryn, of Monument Colo., and their children, Tom and wife, Diane, and Patrick and Caitlin; three sisters, Rita, Lucille and Jackeline; and two brothers, Germain and Raoul.

She was predeceased by her husband, Herve` Collette; and a daughter, Louise.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Rumford Community Home and the Rumford Hospital for the loving care given to our mother.
