PORTLAND (AP) – Police Monday were investigating a fatal stabbing in the city’s West End.

The victim, described only as a Hispanic male, was found dead Sunday night on Gilman Street, near the Maine Medical Center parking garage.

It was not immediately clear whether the stabbing took place in a nearby apartment or on the street, police said.

Detectives were interviewing witnesses immediately after the slaying. There was no word of any arrests.
