LEWISTON – Aroostook Fence has captured the Major Division championship in the South Lewiston Little League.

In the semfinal game, Jake Dumas smashed a double to score Glenn Milliken from first base in the last of the sixth to provide the Fencemen with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Gendron’s Mobil. Milliken was a repeat hitter. Tyler Hartman tossed an outstanding 4-hitter, striking out 14.

Cody Mousseau led Gendron’s with 2 singles.

In the title tilt, Ryan Rossignol threw a complete game 5-hitter as Arookstook blanked Hammond Lumber 4-0. Hartmen sparked the offense with a 3-3 game. Shane Saleeme legged out a triple. Losing hurler Andrew Gatchell rapped 2 hits. Joey Bouthot, Jared Bourgoin and Scott Gagne were the other hitters.

ASLL stars win opener

AUBURN – The Auburn Suburban Little League 9-10-Year-Old All Stars won their opener in the District 5 tourney Monday, a 16-4 triumph over Augusta West at Pulsifer Field in New Auburn.Matthew Zembas pitched 5 strong innings for the Suburbans. Drew Lupardo and Brandon Polisky contributed with a pair of spectacular catches. Sean Ford and Zembas each scored 3 runs, and Corey Henderson legged out a triple. The team will resume district play Wednesday at South Lewiston.

Alton Henderson serves as manager for the ASLL squad. Todd Blanchard and Llewelyn Jensen are the coaches. Other squad members: Nathan Mulligan, Brendon Pelletier, Elijah Moreshead, Quinn Fogerty, Jonathan Caiani, Micky Lawrence, Nathan Alexander.
