RUMFORD – The Rumford Point United Church of Christ, corner of Route 2 and 232 in Rumford Point, invites friends and acquaintances of the late Elizabeth Betsy Baker to an afternoon tea held in her memory at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at the church.

Baker was a longtime member of the Rumford Point church and friend of the community. She lived in the stately home behind the church. At one time she and her mother ran a tea room at their residence called the Sophisticated Shed. Betsy, as she was affectionately known, lived well into her 90s, passing away in 2001.

Several years ago, a memory garden was established at the church in memory of past members and friends of the church. Those attending the tea will also be able to tour the garden. Everyone is welcome.
