MECHANIC FALLS – A community celebration with the Pleasant Street Baptist Church will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 2, in Maisie Keene Park across from Kathy’s Diner, 7 S. Main St. There will be free entertainment by stand-up juggler Mike Miclon, music from Red Flannel Hash and refreshments.

Wildlife lecture

GRAY – Dana Johnson, a registered animal damage control agent form Wells, will answer visitor’s questions on furbearers, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at the Maine Wildlife Park. Johnson will give demonstrations and advice on how to use traps if wildlife are causing nuisance problems.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly Club Championship were: first in A, B, C: Linda Leotsakos and Nancy Glusker; second, Nancy Farmer and Dick Allen; third, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird; fourth, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner; fifth, Ron Reynolds and Randy Silver.

Second in B: Patricia Daley and Agnes Winn; third in B: Cynthia Bonsey and Janice Wolfe.

Second in C: Alex Baumhoff and Ashley Bies.

No game will be played on July 4th. A special silver point STaC Game will be held on Monday, July 11. Games are played at 9 a.m., a mini lesson is given, and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 783-1734 for more information.

Widow fellowship

LISBON – The Lisbon Area Widow Fellowship will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 11, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street, Lisbon Falls. There will be a potluck luncheon at noon. Area widows are invited. The group meets the first Monday of the month. If that is a holiday, they meet the second Monday.

Grange yard sale

DANVILLE – Danville Junction Grange 65 will hold its annual indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Grange hall. Proceeds will be used for repairs to the hall. Tables are available to rent for $10 by calling Wes or Glenys Ryder at 783-6897. There will be baked goods and a white elepant table as well as souup and sandwich luncheon.
