July 2
Bethel: Fireworks on golf course of Bethel Inn from about 8:30 to 9:15 p.m., followed by entertainment with Rob Robbins at Millbrook Tavern and Grille, downstairs at Bethel Inn, 9 p.m. till close

Bridgton: Strawberry breakfast, Stevens Brook Elementary School, 7:30 to 10 a.m.

Book sale, Bridgton Public Library, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Firetruck rides at Bridgton Fire Department, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fire Department also will have food booth at Renys, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fryeburg: Fourth of July parade begins at 9:30 a.m. on Main Street

Oxford: Maine State Lottery Fireworks Night begins at 6:30 p.m. at Oxford Plains Speedway. Includes stock car races and fireworks shortly after dark, also a pre-race exhibition by Vertical Outlaws stunt bike team. Children under 6, free; tickets are $5 for juniors, $8 for seniors and those with military I.D., and $10 for adults. For more information, people may call 539-8865

Bridgton: Firetruck rides at Bridgton Fire Department, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fire Department also will have food booth at Renys, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Iron Kids Triathlon, with biking, running and swimming, begins 2 p.m.

Bridgton Band performs at gazebo, 7 p.m.

Fireworks begin around 9 p.m.

Shawnee Peak: Portland Symphony Orchestra pops concert begins at 7:30 p.m., followed by fireworks. Tickets: $14, juniors; $16, seniors; $18, adults. For more information, people may call 207-647-8444.
July 4
Bethel: The 13th annual Community Picnic on lawn of Dr. Moses Mason House, 14 Broad St., beginning at noon. Includes remarks by Oxford County Commissioner Dave Duguay and the presentation of the colors by the Mundt-Allen American Legion Post No. 81 Color Guard. The Portland Brass Quintet will play the national anthem and begin their concert. Free and open to public. If it rains, event will be in Middle Intervale Meeting House on Intervale Road.

Bridgton: 29th annual Four on the Fourth race begins at the Norway Savings Bank at 8 a.m.

Firetruck rides at Bridgton Fire Department, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fire Department also will have food booth at Renys, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bridgton Rotary Great Duck Race will kick off at the bridge near Magic Lantern Movie Theater on Main Street at 11 a.m.

Annual parade will be on Main Street at noon

Pondicherry Days, noon to 5 p.m., behind Renys to celebrate town’s early history. Includes a chicken barbecue, a Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament, water slide and dunk tank.

Naples: Parade on Main Street at 2 p.m.

Fireworks will be at dusk
