BANGOR (AP) – An Etna man involved in a fatal drunken driving crash more than a decade ago has been convicted of driving under the influence in another accident last year that injured a motorcyclist.

Jurors in Penobscot County Superior Court deliberated little more than an hour Wednesday before convicting Jeffrey Harvey, 44, of aggravated operating under the influence in connection with a June 2004 crash in Etna. Motorcylist Barri Babcock, 35, of Carmel, was injured.

Harvey also was convicted of OUI in 1987 for an accident on the same stretch of road in which four people from Lincoln were killed. He was acquitted of vehicular manslaughter in that case and sentenced to 11 months in jail. His record includes OUI convictions from 1992 and 1996 and several convictions for operating after suspension and after revocation.

Defense attorney James Beardsley told the judge he plans to appeal the conviction.
