LEWISTON – Millard “Joe” P. Shorette Sr., 77, of Bowdoinham Road, Lisbon Falls, died Thursday, June 30, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Howe Brook, Dec. 17, 1927, the son of Freeman and Elizabeth (Russell) Shorette, he was educated in Howe Brook and Richmond and served his country in the U.S. Army.

In December 1948, he married the former Lenorma B. Mitchell of Dyer Brook.

Joe spent most of his working years in the Textile Industry retiring from Tex Tech in Monmouth.

He was a member of the West Bowdoin Baptist Church. His enjoyments were tinkering in his workshop, woodworking and gardening.

He leaves his wife of 56 years, Lenorma, of Lisbon Falls; three daughters, Peggy Longval and partner, Bill Mason, of South Paris, Cynthia and husband, Dwight Stiphen, of Pittston, and Dawn Shorette and husband, Reggie Poirier, of Leeds; two sons, Joey and wife, Denise Shorette, of Winthrop, and Michael and wife, Sheri Shorette, of Bowdoin; two brothers, Freeman and wife, Martha Shorette, of Lisbon Falls, and Theodore and wife, Barbara Shorette, of Dresden; seven grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a child, Baby Shorette.
