WALDOBORO – The Downeast School of Massage will hold a free open house at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Tours will be given, refreshments served and administrators will be present for a group discussion as well as answering questions from individuals.
The over 600-hour curriculum at DSM is the only program in Maine accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation. The 10-month program includes extensive instruction in anatomy, physiology, massage, kinesiology, nutrition, reflexology, hydrotherapy and, depending on the student’s major, intensely focused course work in sports massage, shiatsu or body/mind.

AUGUSTA – Daniel Schuberth was elected College Republican National Secretary at the College Republican National Convention June 25 in Arlington, Va. Schuberth, a three-term state chairman of the Maine College Republicans, is the first Mainer to be elected to national College Republican leadership in the organization’s 113 year history. He was also recognized at the convention as Best State Chairman for 2005 by the College Republican National Committee. Schuberth attends Bowdoin College and is in the Class of 2006.
