BRADENTON, Fla. – Laureanne Dionne Simoneau, 70, died Tuesday, June 30, at a Florida Hospice House.

She was born Dec. 5, 1934, in Lewiston, the daughter of Joseph and Marie-Anne Dionne. She was a graduate of Saint Dominic’s High School, Lewiston, Class of 1951, and Auburn Maine School of Commerce, Class of 1952.

She began her secretarial career as the secretary to the Dean of Faculty at Bates College, Lewiston. She continued to work as a secretary in various capacities, including many years with Bangor Adult Education, until her retirement as administrative assistant to the superintendent of schools in Bangor.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, Sarasota, Fla., as well as a summer member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, where she volunteered her time as a liturgical minister, and as a lifetime member of the Women’s Council. She also gave of her time as a PTO president to the former St. John’s Catholic School.

She married Aime M. Simoneau on Aug. 23, 1958.

Besides her husband, she is survived by daughters, Annette and her husband, Mark Bliss, of Mendon, Mass., Denise and her husband, Lewis Stubbs, of Bangor; a son, Paul and his wife, Dale Dooley, of Thousand Oaks, Calif. Laureanne was a devoted “Grandmaman” to her six grandchildren, Alaina, Aimee, Antoine, Angelique, Annemarie, and Mae.

She was predeceased by her parents, and her siblings, Gilberte Cloutier, Dr. Roger Dionne, Georgette Corrao, and Lucien Dionne.
