CONWAY, N.H. (AP) – Two men pleaded innocent Tuesday to charges that they rode their bicycles naked last month as part of a worldwide protest of people’s dependence on cars.

Richard Bartlett, 49, of Tyngsboro, Mass., and Richard Schultz, 65, of Keene, are charged with indecent exposure and lewdness. They were arraigned Tuesday in Conway District Court and are expected back in court in September.

Sponsors organized the World Naked Bike Ride to protest worldwide dependence on cars and oil and to promote bicycling as transportation.
