NEW YORK (AP) – Lisa Leslie and Chamique Holdsclaw of the Los Angeles Sparks, and the Connecticut Sun’s Nykesha Sales were each selected Tuesday to their sixth WNBA All-Star Game.

Leslie and Holdsclaw will be joined as Western Conference reserves by Sacramento’s DeMya Walker, Houston’s Michelle Snow, Minnesota’s Katie Smith and San Antonio’s Marie Ferdinand. Walker and Snow will be making their first All-Star appearances on Saturday.

Sales, who will be playing before the home fans in Uncasville, Conn., will be joined on the Eastern Conference bench by Detroit’s Cheryl Ford and Deanna Nolan, Washington’s Alana Beard, New York’s Ann Wauters and Connecticut’s Taj McWilliams-Franklin.

Beard and Wauters are first-time All-Stars.

Houston’s Sheryl Swoopes and Indiana’s Tamika Catchings were the top vote-getters for the game when ballots were counted last week.

Swoopes will be joined in the Western Conference starting lineup by Sacramento’s Yolanda Griffith, Phoenix’s Diana Taurasi, and Lauren Jackson and Sue Bird of Seattle.

Catchings heads an Eastern Conference starting lineup completed by Detroit’s Swin Cash and Ruth Riley, Charlotte’s Dawn Staley and New York’s Becky Hammon.

Cash, recovering from offseason knee surgery and yet to play this season, was activated for Tuesday night’s game against Houston.
