YARMOUTH – The 16th Annual Betty Blakeman Memorial Tournament, Maine’s largest and most successful tennis event, will be held on the weekend of July 15-17.

Headquarters for the tourney will be the Yarmouth Tennis Courts. Held in conjunction with the famed Yarmouth Clam Festival, the event is a fundraiser for the Maine Cancer Foundation. It attracted 193 players of all ages and ability levels in 2004.

Competition will be held in Men’s Open Singles and Doubles, Women’s Open Singles and Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Men’s 55-plus Singles. For entries and more information, contact tournament director Don Atkinson at 772-7350. Deadline for entries is July 13 at 10:30 p.m.
