AUBURN – SHAREcenter will hold its fourth annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, in the Great Falls Performing Arts Building gym on High Street. Sale items will include craft supplies, furniture, clothing and books.

The sale is open to the public and all proceeds will go to fund supplies for schools and nonprofits in the region.

SHAREcenter is a not-for-profit program that provides materials for students, teachers and clients. The center gave out more than 100 tons this year from its two sites, in Auburn and Topsham.

Materials are collected from businesses and prepared for use in classes and community programs. More than 25,000 children benefited from the program.

“Most member programs receive over five times their membership fee in value,” said center director Diane Doe. “It is a great way for school systems and agencies to stretch tight budgets, plus our Green Zone is open to the public now.”

For the sale day, volunteers, donors and shoppers can enter through the double gym doors off High Street. Parking is available on either side of the building, as well as in the dirt parking lot on Academy Street.

Volunteers are needed to set up for the sale, and donations are still being accepted. Contact Doe at 795-0972 for more information on the sale, for other summer volunteer opportunities and for membership applications for the upcoming school year.
