Three men were arrested in the past week on charges of raping three women in separate incidents in Farmington and surrounding towns, according to the county jail’s arrest logs.
Keith Bachelder, 40, of Strong was arrested June 27 at Franklin Memorial Hospital where he was a patient, said Maine State Police Lt. Dale Lancaster.
He said he couldn’t divulge the nature of Bachelder’s hospital visit.
Bachelder is accused of raping a woman the evening of June 17 at a residence in Phillips, Lancaster said.
The incident was reported on June 23. Police got an arrest warrant for Bachelder on a charge of gross sexual assault.
Dennis Morgan, 53, of New Sharon was arrested July 1 at his home.
He is accused of raping a woman in the early-morning hours that day, Lancaster said Thursday.
Arrested Sunday was Donald Burnell, 30, of Phillips. He was taken into custody by officer Bridgette Dellarma at the Farmington Police Department after he was questioned there in connection with the rape of a woman in Farmington during the previous week, according to Detective Marc Bowering.
According to jail records, Burnell is being held on $15,000 cash or $75,000 surety, and Morgan was released July 5 on $1,000 cash bail.
