After much thought, I am responding to the letter of Rachel Rodrigue (July 3). First, the word of God is not boiled down to one passage in Leviticus alone. There are many passages condemning sodomy – let’s call it what it is.
At the same time, I must note that there is a difference between “love” and “license.” Would one, in love, allow a toddler to play with matches just because he wanted to? I think not.
May I note here that Jesus, himself, chastened the money-changers at the temple.
If one has a love for his fellow man, he will do all he can to warn them of the dangers of their miscreant activities. This can hardly be classified as discrimination.
