PORTLAND – Eye9d Presents will present WCYY 10 Birthday Day Two with Jimmy’s Chicken Shack, Animal Suit Drive By, Headstart and Too Late For Hero live in concert tonight at The Asylum, 121 Center St.
Doors will open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $ 7 and are available in advance at Bull Moose Music and Ticketweb.com or at The Asylum box office the night of show only. There is a reduced ticket rate of just 94 cents if tickets to either the 3 Doors Down (July 12 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland) or the Weezer (July 12 at the Colisee in Lewiston) concert are shown at the door of The Asylum. This is a 21-plus event.
Formed in the Annapolis Maryland in the mid-1990s, Jimmy’s Chicken Shack blends funk-metal with elements of reggae and rock. The band started off playing area bars around Annapolis.
Jimmies Chicken Shack was one of the headliners of the WCYY holiday bizarre in 1999. To help celebrate WCYY’s 10th birthday, it will be headlining day two of the 10th celebration.
Opening the show are Maine bands Animal Suit Drive By, Headstart and Too Late for Hero. Animal Suit Driveby of Hamden are five 19- to 20-year-olds who make a unique type of rock.
Portland’s Headstart is playing shows in support of their release on Musclecity Records. Opening the show are newcomers Too Late For Hero.
