LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) – The transit bombings in London prompted police to check commuter buses Friday.
Officers conducted a Security Checkpoint at the Londonderry Park and Ride lot off Interstate 93.
Capt. Bill Hart said police took the step because of Thursday’s bombings and the elevated terrorist threat level for mass transit in the United States. He said police were checking to make sure the buses were safe, but also hoping to prompt bus riders to be aware of things such as unattended luggage or packages. Hart said passengers are urged not to accept packages or luggage which is not theirs.
