HARPSWELL – Gary R. Levasseur, 44, of Tide Mill Cove Road, died Friday, July 8, at his home.

He was born in Dover, N.H., Jan. 1, 1961, a son of Roger and Rita A. Roy Levasseur Sr.

He graduated from Lewiston High School.

He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from October 1979 to October 1983.

Gary married Tawny L. Christie on Sept. 2, 1989, in Brunswick.

He was an urchin diver and a self-employed carpenter in the area.

He enjoyed woodworking, fine furniture, building cat houses, and spending time with his family.

He was a member of the West Harpswell Baptist Church.

Besides his wife of Harpswell, he is survived by his father and his wife, Rose, of Harpswell; and mother, Rita Dumont of Oriental, N.C.; two sons, Matthew Steven Mitchell of Orland, and Elijah Samuel Levasseur of Harpswell; a daughter, Lindsey Ann Levasseur of Harpswell; three brothers, Roger Levasseur Jr. of Brunswick, Robert Dumont and his wife, Lisa, of Auburn, and Michael Dumont and his wife, Linda, of Lewiston; three sisters, Gina Levasseur of Indianapolis, Ind., Darreline Coffin and her husband, Frank, of Harpswell, and Sue Fiske and her husband, Bill, of Chester, N.H.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
