KITTERY (AP) – A Georgia man was scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of attempted murder today after allegedly stabbing his co-worker during a fight at a truck stop, police said.

Omowale Nubian Black, 39, of Atlanta, was arrested at Howell’s Truck Stop on Route 1 on Friday afternoon, while the 24-year-old victim was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

The wounds were serious but not life-threatening, according to Kittery police, who did not release the victim’s name.

Kittery Police Sgt. Ronald Michaud said Black, the victim and another man who had been working for Van Buren Movers out of Georgia were traveling through Kittery on Friday.

Black and one of the other movers began “squabbling over working conditions and performance” before Black allegedly stabbed his co-worker once in the abdomen and once in the biceps, Michaud said.
