PARIS – The Paris Public Library invites area children to participate in its summer reading program, “Camp-Read-A-Lot.” From July 13 through Aug. 24, special guests will visit the library every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. to present various activities about camping or the outdoors.

Participants signing up on July 13 will receive Camp-Read-A-Lot rewards. On July 20, Northern Stars Planetarium will explore Maine’s night sky. A Rogers puppet show will be featured on Aug. 3. Other programs include “Studying Animal Tracks” with Jim Chandler on Aug. 10 and a Camp Song Sing-a-long with Earl Rogers on Aug. 17.

Besides the Wednesday activities, the library will continue to offer storytimes at 10:30 a.m. every weekday. The storytimes will feature stories, related crafts, snacks and an occasional special guest.

Any child attending any four weekday morning programs and who also checks out at least one book during the visits will qualify to win prizes, attend the closing picnic and attend a visit from the Chewonki Foundation’s owls. The storytimes are aimed toward children ages 1 to 10.
