LEWISTON – Barry C. Powers, 41, of the Hacker Road in Brunswick, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 10, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Brunswick, on July 11, 1963, a son of Charles and Selma (O’Neil) Powers. He was educated in Brunswick schools, and spent time as a resident in both the greater Brunswick and the Lewiston/Auburn communities.
As a young man, he first worked on his uncle’s farm in Brunswick and later worked for a time at Jerry Staples’, recycling cars.
Among his enjoyments were visiting with friends, doing auto body and mechanical repairs, and the company of his two cats, Blackie and Charcoal. His great sense of humor and kind ways will be sadly missed by his family and friends as he is now at peace, and free of his personal struggles.
He leaves his mother and father, Selma and Charles Powers of Brunswick; a brother, Chuck Powers and his wife, Dawne-Marie, also of Brunswick; a niece, Nicole Powers of Brunswick; and 12 cousins.
He was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
