LEWISTON – Alcide Cyril Gauthier Jr., 59, passed away Sunday, July 10, at Central Maine Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 5, 1946, in Lewiston, the son of Alcide and Carlene Ward Gauthier.

Before his illness, he worked for many years at the New England Truck Tire Center in Auburn.

On July 30, 1982, he married Diane Thorton. She passed away Feb. 6.

He is survived by his children, Thomas Gauthier of Richfield N.C., Todd Gauthier and his wife, Sandy, of Richfield N.C., Angela Gauthier of Lewiston, and stepdaughter, Julie Smith of Lewiston; his mother, Carlene Gauthier of Lewiston; brothers, Robert Gauthier and his wife, Dot, of West Bowdoin, and Ken Gauthier and his wife, Lisa, of Lewiston; sisters, Brenda Smith of Lewiston, Louise Gauthier of Lewiston and Joy Moody of Navarre, Fla.; five granddaughters; and three step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his ex-wife, Barbara Morgan of Lake View, S.C.
