AUGUSTA – Tony C. McKim of The First, was named chairman of the Maine Bankers Association on June 25 at the association’s annual meeting in Groton, Conn.

McKim joined The First as executive vice president, chief operating officer and as a member of the Board of Directors upon the completion of the mergers of FNB Bankshares and The First National Bank of Bar Harbor on Jan. 14. Prior to the merger, McKim was president and chief executive officer of First National Bank of Bar Harbor and its subsidiary.

Additional officers elected for the 2005-06 year: Vice Chairman Kathyrn Underwood, District President, KeyBank; and Second Vice Chairman Jeffrey Smith, president and chief operating officer of UnitedKingfield Bank. Jon Prescott, president of the Katahdin Trust Co. served as MBA chairman for 2004-2005.
