AUGUSTA – Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility and Mainebiz will award three Eagle Feather Awards at its annual conference in October.

The awards are for a business with more than 50 employees, a business with less than 50 employees and a non-profit organization. Eagle Feather Awards honor Maine organizations that best exemplify MEBSR’s vision of a new business climate of sustainable profitability directly related to operating in a socially responsible and ethical manner. Nominations are now being accepted.

Criteria for the Eagle Feather Award are:

• The business/organization must be located in Maine

• The business/organization must demonstrate a strong commitment to quality and/or environmental impact of product or service; development of a healthy and productive workplace; and corporate citizenship and community involvement

• The business/organization must also demonstrate that its commitment to social responsibility, as defined above, has made a positive impact on its bottom line
