DIXFIELD – The Swasey-Torrey Post 100, American Legion, has permission from the town to place a war memorial, consisting of stones laid on the ground, in front of the present memorial.
The stones would include the name, rank, war or conflict, years served and branch of service. Veterans would either have been born or have lived in Dixfield at the time they served.
The stones would look like those the military places in the cemeteries and would cost $100 each.
