BRIDGEWATER (AP) – A 5-year-old girl died from injuries sustained when a motorist struck her as she rode her bike in front of her home.

Megan Bradstreet died early Thursday at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she was taken after Wednesday evening’s crash, troopers said.

Megan’s mom, Wendy Bradstreet, was with the child and had crossed U.S. 1 ahead of her, with the little girl following, troopers said.

The driver of the vehicle was Henry Dearborn, 75, of Bridgewater. Troopers said no charges in the case were anticipated.
